Happy Birthday to the best city in the world...
Did you know on May 4th 1852, the State legislature approved the incorporation of the town of Oakland. Which makes Oakland 160 this year. The area with a population of 75 people was previously known as Contra Costa. After incorporation, Oakland immediately began construction of shipping wharves along Oakland’s Estuary, building the large wharves and dredging a shipping channel with the goal to make Oakland an independent point of destination.
So do you know how you are going to celebrate Oakland's birthday? Spend some time this May enjoying "The Town", take in one of Oakland's many events, watch a baseball game, eat at one of the many amazing resteraunts, and do a little shopping. As always, if you are looking for some great Oakland apparel, look no further than the RepOakland apparel page.
Oh the food, I just love the food...

Oakland's Party for Two
By Otown Eater
I spoke with a friend the other day as she was getting ready to meet a date, a guy who was coming over from San Francisco. She had selected your everyday pub as the venue for the date, a place with a decent beer selection and mediocre, greasy pub food. It got me thinking about places I would recommend for a date night. The following OTown eateries offer a fun and casual vibe with an impressive ambiance, perfect to woo the object of your affection!
